How to Write a Conclusion

Do not begin with "In conclusion" or of "to conclude" or "to sum things up" or any other trite, clichéd phrase.  Instead, start with a sentence or two stating what should have been achieved in writing the paper.

Restate the thesis.
Don't merely copy and paste--reword it.

Briefly summarize the argument--don't give a detailed summary or repeat what has already been written.

Be straight to the point.  Don't drag it out.  Write one paragraph--perhaps two.
